Are You OK?®
Are You OK? is a telephone reassurance service provided by the Humboldt Senior Resource Center in partnership with City Ambulance for residents in the greater Arcata, Eureka, and McKinleyville areas served by the Humboldt Bay Fire District and Arcata Fire District. Are You OK? provides daily check-ins and peace of mind for elders who live alone. The only cost is a minimal one-time fee of $12. Senior Home Repair
The Senior Home Repair program provides minor safety repairs for eligible residents who live within the Eureka city limits. Services can include basic plumbing and electrical work, installing/repairing railings, safety bars, and small projects to fix other safety concerns. Seasonally, Humboldt Senior Resource Center sells low-cost firewood vouchers to qualifying households with an individual age 55 and older who are living on a low to moderate income. Currently, no firewood vouchers are available, but we will provide updates on this website and on the Humboldt Senior Resource Center Facebook page when future voucher sales are scheduled.
