The Humboldt Council on Estate Planning and Elder Care is a professional networking organization comprised of attorneys, CPAs, fiduciaries, investment advisors, and other related professionals practicing on the North Coast.  The primary function of the Council is to provide networking and informal informational luncheons for these  professionals.   The Council’s activities help professionals stay abreast of information and resources related to the services they provide for their clients.

The Council holds luncheon meetings six times per year at the Sequoia Conference Center in Eureka from 12 noon to 1:30 pm; see below for the 2026 dates and presentation topics.  Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) coordinates the luncheons for the Council.

  • Thursday, March 26:  Estate Planning Update, presented by Dennis Reinholtsen, Janssen Malloy
  • Thursday, May 28: Redwood Coast Regional Center Services, presented by Jo Pourian, Intake & Eligibility Manager and Alex Ostell, Participant Choice Manager, Redwood Coast Regional Center
  • Thursday, July 23:  Gender This!  Navigating Clients’ Unique Legal Gender Identity Challenges, presented by Jess Pettitt, MBA, Leadership and Diversity Consultant 
  • Thursday, September 24: Trusts Explained, presented by Angela Petrusha, Petrusha Law and Lisa Hansen, Hansen & Pereira
  • Thursday, November 19:  Tax Law Updates, presented by Scott Hunt CPA/ABV, Principal &  Hannah Ramos, CPA, Senior Accountant — DHS Advisors (formerly Hunter, Hunter & Hunt)

The luncheon fee is $40 per person, payable by check or credit card.  Mail checks, made payable to HSRC, to Humboldt Senior Resource Center, 1910 California St, Eureka CA 95501.  Call HSRC at 707-443-9747 to pay by credit card.  Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome (subject to space availability).
