  • Thursday, February 23, 2023:  Dr. Celeste Sayles-Croy from the Open Door Eureka Community Health and Wellness Center presented “Alzheimer’s Medication Trials,”  featuring information about the two new medications recently approved by the FDA for the treatment of Alzheimer’s-type dementia.

  • Monday, January 23, 2023: Juliannah Harris, MSAT, of Tri-County Independent Living presented “Assistive Technologies.”  This session  featured information about assistive technology including devices for medication management, memory, communication, personal emergency response, specialized phones, devices designed to support caregivers and more.

  • Monday, December 5, 2022: Andrew Levine, PhD, ABPP  from  North Coast Neuropsychiatry presented “Parkinson’s Plus Syndromes.”  This session  addresses the shared symptoms of Parkinson’s plus syndromes and Parkinson’s disease and their different underlying causes, as well as treatments.

  • Monday, July 25, 2022:  “Activity Programming,” presented by David Van Reusen, Assistant Director of Redwood Coast PACE. This presentation addressed the importance of activities for those with cognitive deficits, and offered tips and suggestions for promoting their engagement in activities.
