The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program assists seniors, persons with disabilities, and limited-English speakers with completing and filing tax forms.  They can help qualified taxpayers whose annual income is $66,000 or less (not including farm or residential rental income).     The program’s IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers are available by appointment at HSRC in Eureka on Thursdays between now and April 18; call 707-443-9747 ext. 1240.   For more information about VITA and what to bring to your appointment, visit IRS.gov and search for VITA.
