POSITION: SAK (Seniors and Kids) PROGRAM SUPERVISOR.  If you enjoy working with others for a good cause, this is the position for you! The SAK Supervisor is responsible for coordinating volunteers in the preparation of 350-500 sack lunches per day for the Summer Lunch program. Duties include: maintaining sanitary food preparation areas, keeping accurate records, supervising volunteers and calculation of appropriate food amounts for lunches. Qualifications: Previous kitchen and supervision experience , ability to multi-task and have a Valid Food Safety Manager Certificate, ServSafe or CA. Food Handlers Card. POSITION: PREP COOK.  Assists generally with preparation of food, preparing  frozen meals for distribution by drivers, dish washing, and pot and pan washing. Good physical health and personal hygiene required;  prior experience in food handling, service and clean-up desirable. Basic knowledge and understanding of public health and safety standards and ability to follow them. Ability to follow directions. Ability to read, write and communicate with older persons as well as fellow staff. Must have Serve Safe Certificate. Interest in learning general commercial kitchen protocols and processes. POSITION: SUBSTITUTE HOME DELIVERED MEALS DRIVER. This is a great position for someone who may need a flexible schedule and is interested in making a positive impact in the lives of others. Transports packaged meals as directed to homebound elderly clients. Must have good driving record verified by DMV, current CA driver's license, vehicle in good condition and carry minimum CA liability insurance. Substitutes need to be able to lift 50 lbs. and load meals into vehicle. Good communication skills needed and ability to keep accurate records. Hours will vary due to substitute nature of position. $9.13/hour. No benefits. POSITION: SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE AIDE--IMMEDIATE OPENINGS Responsible for food handling and clean up at various HSRC dining sites including Eureka, Fortuna and Arcata. Clean, wash, and prepare food service equipment and home delivered meals carriers. Assume other duties in the preparation and serving of meals under the direction of the Food Service Manager. Must have previous kitchen experience, valid Food Safety Manager Certificate, Food Handlers card or ServSafe certification. Ability to stand for extended time and lift up to 40 lbs. M-F, 7am to 1:30pm with some variable hours at times. Subs can work up to five days/week in our busy central kitchen or other sites.
