Fundraising

Since 1974, the Humboldt Senior Resource Center has offered programs and services which promote the highest quality of life for Humboldt County seniors, their families and caregivers. We have wonderful partners in this work, thanks to the generosity of thousands of individuals, businesses, clubs, service organizations, corporations, foundations and bequests left as part of supporters’ estate plans. These partners enable HSRC to realize its mission of “supporting health, dignity and self-determination” for all seniors and their families.

Donations are used to maintain programs and services such as Adult Day Health Services and the Alzheimer's Resource Center, home-delivered meals for frail elderly, preventive health programs, congregate dining centers, educational and recreational activities and more.

Gifts received in honor of living people or in memory of departed loved ones celebrate their lives while helping to provide services and programs for thousands of local seniors.

Endowment and Planned Giving

The HSRC Endowment Fund was established in 1980 through a bequest from the estate of Grace Blommer Christensen of Arcata. Continuing growth of the Endowment Fund generates interest revenues which support HSRC programs. Thus, the Endowment Fund is a significant source of financial support for the Senior Resource Center now and into the future.
While current donations are vital to the success of today’s Senior Resource Center, it is also critical to remember the future of senior programs and services in our community. This is best done through planned giving, or estate planning, the gifts of which become available after the death of the donor. Committed supporters can plan now to leave a legacy to the Senior Resource Center that will continue giving after they’re gone.

Please remember us when you plan your estate and determine your tax-deductible contributions. A professional advisor can help you make a difference to the future of the Humboldt Senior Resource Center.  For more information, call Roz Keller at 707-443-9747.
