Adult Day Health
Adult Day Health Services “Helping Make Every Day Your Best Day!”
We are always accepting new participants!
Update:
Adult Day Health Services (ADHS) has been authorized by the state to provide Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) and continues to receive State Medi-Cal funding. We are still providing the same great care that you have come to expect and we’re ready to enroll new participants.
ADHS is a medically licensed, therapeutic day program that provides a caring alternative to nursing home care for those who do not need 24-hour skilled nursing. The program is designed to help people stay mentally and physically active, reduce isolation, improve their health, and prevent decline of their abilities. People typically attend the program one to five times a week. Services include therapeutic activities, games, health monitoring, social services, meals, dietary counseling, physical, occupational and speech therapies.
According to one participant:
“Being alone at home you find loneliness creeps up on you. You can’t get out of your home because of your disability. ADHS gives me a chance to socialize. It increases my faith to see how other people are overcoming their problems and how far they have come. Therapy gives me hope for future improvements."
Participants who attend Adult Day Health Services have dramatic improvements in their lives. They develop friendships, are happier, and take part in regular exercise and therapies.

Senior Home Repair
The purpose of this program is to assist low to moderate income seniors who cannot afford repairs needed to their home to accommodate the special needs of older adults to make their homes safer. If you are 60+ and live in the City of Eureka (owner or renter), your income does not exceed $48,050 for individuals ($54,900 for couples) you may qualify for this free service. The repairs cannot exceed $300 per fiscal year. Low to moderate income households and repairs that address safety or health hazards will have priority.
The workers can help with most any small job that will maintain the health and safety of the senior and keep them in their home - the restricting guideline is the job cannot require a licensed contractor or a building permit.
The repairs can include, but are not limited to: repairs to floor boards, porches, steps, railings, installation of grab bars, hand rails, smoke detectors, weatherization of windows and doors, safety repairs such as tacking down loose carpet, other minor tasks that would be difficult for seniors, such as changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures, changing batteries in smoke detectors, and minor electrical or plumbing work.
Call us at 443-9747 x 1240 for more information and to sign up. We can direct you to other programs for bigger repairs and ramps, too.
