The Home Delivered Meal Program in Fortuna delivers hot meals 4 days a week. The main thing stopping hot meals being delivered 5 days a week is lack of volunteer drivers. We currently need volunteers Monday-Thursday 10:45a.m.-12:00p.m to strengthen the pool of drivers. Once this pool is strengthened we would love to expand to Friday also. Delivering these meals is much more than just a meal for many of the recipients. It is also a way to check up on them daily, often with the drivers being one of the few contacts the recipient has. You can volunteer daily, weekly, bimonthly or monthly; it only takes about an hour of your day! Become a volunteer and provide nourishment to your heart and to seniors in your community! You can volunteer if you are retired, or working. If the time is too much talk to your boss to see if there is a way to extend your lunch a little to help out, or talk to us to see if there is a way we can shorten a route.

For more information on becoming a volunteer in Fortuna, please contact Launa at 725-6245 or fill out a volunteer application from our website.

The Home Delivered Meal Program in Eureka is looking for a few substitute home delivered meal drivers. A substitute home delivered meal driver would help out when one of the regular drivers are unable to deliver. This could only be a couple times a month, but could lead to more time if you are interested also.

Volunteer server wanted for the Eureka Dining Site. We enjoy providing table service to our seniors at the Eureka Dining Site. We need servers to serve salads, dessert, or the main entree on a day or days that work well for your schedule. The hours are: 11:15 to 12:15, Monday – Friday. Training is provided and we welcome your participation. Please contact Susan at 442-1181 if interested in volunteering in Eureka.
