Great News for the New Alzheimer's Center!

Funding for New Alzheimer’s Center construction got a real boost recently with the approval of a Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant of $200,000 for the Humboldt Senior Resource Center. This means that we will receive their funding if we raise our portion of the remaining campaign goal ($175,000) by the end of May 2009.  The Kresge Foundation uses their hard-to-get grants to challenge communities to help worthy building projects meet their goals.  So the Challenge is ON!

We have formed the $1,000 Club which includes anyone who donates or pledges $1,000 to help us Meet the Kresge Challenge.  Donations can be made at one time or pledged over one, two or three years.  $1,000 Club members will be entitled to create an inscription on a Fire & Light tile for our Quilt of Glass at the New Alzheimer’s Center.

We encourage all community members to help us Meet the Challenge at whatever level possible. All donations will bring us closer to raising the $175,000 we need to receive the Kresge Foundation’s $200,000 Challenge Grant.
